India's first biojet fuel flight

Spicejet introduces biojet fuel flight:

         The Spicejet airlines has operated India's first biojet fuel flight.It was a Bombardier Q400 aircraft with biojet fuel, which took off from Dehradun and landed in the airport of national capital.The flight has been powered by 75%of air turbine fuel and 25% biojet fuel.

         The main advantage of using this biojet fuel when compared to ATF is, it reduces carbon emissions and helps fuel efficiency. The fuel has been developed by the Indian Institute of Petroleum,Dehradun and it is made from Jatropha crop. Around 20 people were in the test flight and it flew around for 25minutes.
          The Q400 can occupy 78 people.The Global Airlines body,IATA has fixed a target of one billion passengers to fly using this aircraft by the end of 2025. Presently, spicejet has 22 Q400 aircrafts and overall ,it operates 412 flights daily.

Demonetization failure

RBI's report on Demonetization:

        The Reserve Bank of India has finally counted all the money received during Demonetization after  2years long gap.The RBI's report on PM's Demonetization is extremely shocking.
          On November 8, 2016, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi suddenly announced that 500 and 1000 rupee notes are invalid and the people were given deadlines to exchange the notes for new ones.This was taken as an initiative to eradicate black money.
          People stood in long queues to take money from ATMs.This existed for several months. It creates a big pressure on common layman.
          Now, finally,RBI has finished counting all money withdrawn during the Demonetization period.As per the report of RBI, 99.3% of money has been collected.About 13000 crores money have not been returned among 15.31 lakh crores.The RBI, previously said in June 2017,that, 15.28 lakh crores have been returned. Whatever might the statement, demonetization is just an epic failure.

Asian Games 2018

Govindan Lakshman disqualified:

     The Indian army runner, Govindan Lakshmanan missed a bronze medal in men's 10,000 metres in the 18th Asian Games 2018.He stripped off the medal for stepping out of the track in finals. It would have been the first Asian games medal for the event for aindia,after 2 decades. But he was disqualified for touching the track.

      Hassan Chani of Bahrain won the gold medal.Abraham Cheroben took the silver medal and China's Changhong took the bronze medal.The Allthleric Federation of India has lodged a complaint against the decision taken on Lakshmanan.

Who is new DRDO chairman

New DRDO Chairman:

      A distinguished aerospace scientist Mr. G. Satheesh Reddy has been appointed as the new DRDO chairman, succeeding S.Christopher who retired in June.The appointment committee of the cabinet approved the appointment of Satheesh Reddy for a period of 2years from the date of charge, whichever is earlier. Reddy is renowned for his research and development in missile systems and his contributions towards aerospace industries.He is now appointed as the scientific advisor to the defence minister Nirmala Seetharaman.

     Reddy was graduated in Electronics and communication engineering in JNTU in Andhra Pradesh.He is a renowned navigation scientist.Reddy holds the honour of being the first defence scientist in India to  receive the silver medal from Royal Aeronautical Society,UK.He has also received the prestigious Homi.J.Baba memorial award. He has been selected for the IEI and IEEE joint award for engineering excellence.

Asian games 2018

Mixed Air Rifles medals for India:

The Asian games 2018 are being held in Indonesian cities, Jakarta and Palembang from August 18th to 2nd September 2018. About 45 nations are participating in 40 sports.

To make a mark, India has opened the bronze medal account in 10m mixed Air rifle event on Sunday ,19th August 2018. India's Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela stood third in the podium with the score if 429.9.

 
      China Taipei claimed the gold medal and China bagged the silver medal in this event.
Manu bakher and Abhishek Verma dint qualify for the 10m mixed air pistol event.

Asian games 2018

India opens Gold Account:
      The 2018 Asian games are being from August 18th to 2nd September in Indonesian cities, Jakarta and Palembang. About 45 nations are participating in this multi sport event.There are about 465 events in 40 sports.

      The 24 year old Bajrang Punia clinched India's first gold medal in wrestling.He defeated Japan's Takatani Daichi in men's 65kg freestyle wrestling, 11-8 in the final bout.
      He has won three consecutive Medals in CWG, Tbilisi and yasar doghu international held in gold coast, Georgia and Instanbul respectively.

Robotic automation

New robots at Chennai airport:

        The Chennai International Airport is one of the busiest airports in India and it has been ranked fourth in passenger traffic. It has been located in Trisulam next to Meenambakkam,21kms from the city centre.To attract the passengers, the airport authorities have taken an initiative, introducing two new robotic staff.

       The humanoid robots named Mitra was deputed inside the terminals on Wednesday for guiding the passengers. The two robots ,one being placed in the arrival and the other in the departure of the domestic terminal greeted the passengers and interacted with them on Independence day.

        The airport authority officials told ,they would soon introduce these robots at the international terminals too,after seeing the response from the passengers.They also added that the robots are on a trial and very soon they would be programmed to guide the passengers to security check and gate terminals, in addition to greeting the passengers.

Vajpayee passed away

Vajpayee no more:
     
        Former prime Minister Mr.Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away in his age of 93. He was admitted in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) for the past 9weeks. He was in a very critical condition and was given life support.He was diagnosed with Kidney infection, urinary tract infection,low urine output and cheat congestion. He breathed his last on August 16th, 2018.

         He was the prime minister for three times supporting the BJP.The 93  years old  politician served a lot for India's transition  and upliftment of the downtrodden.
        He was not only a politician,but also a journalist, poet, writer and an orator. He has He has published several books on fiction, non fiction and poetry. Vajpayee was awarded the highest award Bharatha Ratna in the year 2015.
