Nepal 's Prime Minister Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli told the Himalayan country has been working to set up the cross border railways linking China and India. This can be done with the cooperation of both neighbouring countries. While addressing the Lower house of Parliament, Oli said the Nepal government has planned to sign a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China to prepare a detailed project report for the cross border railways connection between China's border Town Kerung and Nepal's Capital Kathmandu.
Physical infrastructure and transport officials of Nepal 's Ministry and Railway Administration of China had held a discussion on proposed project during the second week of December 2018 . Mr. Sharma told that the Nepal government plans for another two railway lines, one connecting Kathmandu and Pokharaand the other line connecting Kathmandu and Lumbhini. Nepal has also signed an MoU with India connecting Kathmandu and Indian border Town Raxual.
